According to Eminem, “A rap battle in Detroit is no laughing matter, and it seems that Fowl took it the most seriously tonight.”
The superstar rapper is referring to Saffal “Fowl” Tall, the 18-year old Detroit native who was the winner of the national freestyle rap battle competition hosted by Eminem in… you guessed it… Detroit! “Fowl” beat out competing rappers from New York, Philly, Atlanta, and San Francisco to name a few. He won the Red Bull EmSee title.

Tom Jones is currently in the running to become the oldest male to have a UK number 1 album at 70 years old.
Unfortunately for him, his album, Praise and Blame, only made number 2, losing to Eminem’s Recovery. Bob Dylan currently holds the record with Together Through Life which came out last year when he was 67.
Jones is looking to get a 3rd number 1 album. His last was Reload in 1999.
Recovery has currently been at the top for 5 weeks straight. Eminem has kept Jones from gaining the title, and by the looks of it, Recovery will stay at the top for a long, long time.

Eminem and Jay-Z planned on surprising a crowd during a taping of the “Late Show With David Letterman,” but their plans were squashed by the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, when they were told that the performance would have to remain a secret until the day of the show.
By then, news of the planned performance had already leaked, and the MOFTB didn’t want another riot like what happened at last week’s free Drake concert with 10,000 disorderly fans.

Eminem took home two of the three Grammy Awards he was nominated for at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday night.
He along with pals Dr. Dre and 50 Cent won for ‘Best Rap Performance b a Duo or Group’ for “Crack a Bottle.” His album, “Relapse,” also won for ‘Best Rap Album.’
The ‘Best Rap Solo Performance’ went to Jay-Z.
Eminem and Lil Wayne also rapped during Drake’s performance of “Forever,” which irked some viewers because of the numerous bleeps and censors during the song. A CBS spokesman told the Associated Press that “it was a rousing musical performance, but words were edited from the live telecast that didn’t meet our broadcast standards. We have great respect for artists’ creative freedom, but there are certain things you can’t say, or sing, on television.”

In typical Eminem form, the rapper is in the news this week for his new diss track against Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.
The battle started with Eminem’s “Bagpipes from Baghdad,” and Carey fought back with her new single “Obsessed.” The most recent is “The Warning,” Eminimen blatantly calls out former flame Mariah, graphically describing one of their encounters, and promising he has the phone calls and pictures to prove it.
Carey seemed to have taken it up a notch with her video for “Obsessed,” which features what some believe to be a parody of Eminem…with Carey playing the role.
